We simply can’t be healthy without good digestion, and the incredible combination of herbs in this special formulation is a must-have resource. Belly Bitters can be a key part of digestive health protocols and one of the first steps to consider in most wellness plans.
We often crave the sweet and dislike deep and bitter flavors, but the components that make up bitter are exactly what we need to support healthy digestion. The taste of bitter stimulates the entire digestive, absorptive, and eliminatory process, making bitter herbs some of our most important herbal friends.
Digestive bitters should be a key part of digestive health protocols and one of the first steps to consider in most wellness plans. We simply can’t be healthy without good digestion.
When your tongue tastes Belly Bitters, the stomach secretes hydrochloric acid (HCl); the liver, pancreas, and small intestine produce and excrete more digestive enzymes and juices; and the gallbladder contracts, squirting bile into the first part of the small intestine.
Beeyoutiful's Belly Bitters are best taken just prior to a meal, so that the digestive processes can get prepared to digest the food. One dropper is all it takes to get the HCl, bile, and digestive enzymes, and juices flowing for healthy digestion and absorption. We have found that holding it in the mouth for a few seconds before swallowing allows the receptors in the mouth to begin sending their signals and encouraging the bodies digestive processes.
Belly Bitters formula uses warming spicy herbs along with the bitter herbs. This does more than just improve the taste. Over time bitter herbs which are cold in nature will suppress the “fire” of digestive activity of the stomach. To keep this from happening, we pair herbs that are warming – ginger, cinnamon, angelica and orange peel – with the cold bitters: dandelion, artichoke, gentian, yellow dock, and yarrow.
Consult with your medical care provider before using Belly Bitters to make sure they are a suitable supplement for your unique health needs. A complete list of ingredients is available under the "Nutritional Information" tab at the top of this description.
Belly Bitters are not suggested for individuals dealing with the following health scenarios: stomach ulcers, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), and the rare individual with abnormally high HCl production. People with large gallstones may also wish to avoid bitters, as the contraction of the gallbladder can move a stone up into the bile duct where it may become stuck and cause a gallbladder attack.
